The kind Guru offered one final and most profound teaching— that impermanence is the law of the universe—by entering parinirvana on 13 April 2023.

Because I was in strict solitary retreat at the time, I could not come to Kopan Monastery to pay my respects. Following the advice of His Eminence Ling Rinpoche, and later confirmed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the sacred body of Lama Zopa Rinpoche was not cremated but lovingly embalmed.

On the first anniversary of his passing, I finally received the precious opportunity to pay homage to the holy body of Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

It is with an inexpressible sense of peace that I share this sacred moment of standing in the sublime presence of my most gracious Guru. 🙏

May all beings find happiness through the virtue of this merit. 🙏❤️

The day was overcast, but as I stepped outside to make a kora, the clouds slowly parted, revealing a soft, mystical light— as if unveiling once again the continued presence and boundless blessings of the glorious Lama.

Though the Guru has shown the aspect of passing, his dharmakaya presence has never left my side.

In the quiet chambers of my heart, he remains— a luminous sanctuary where devotion deepens into recognition, where the outer form dissolves but the inner radiance only grows clearer.

There, in that sacred stillness, I meet the Guru – the timeless, inseparable light that continues to guide my breath, my path.

Homage to you, Lama—complete purity of all apparent existence.

To you, I offer all that arises from this very ground of appearance.

I pray for the total liberation of the three realms.

Please bestow your blessings that liberate all beings from the depths of samsara.
